Ibiza, Baby!

About a month before I left for Spain, a random customer at the wine bar I was working at told me: "There is no such thing as a coincidence, the universe is perfectly harmonized." There is such truth in this statement. When things work out so perfectly, or when crazy "coincidences" happen, I believe it is the universe showing you that you are on the right path and that you are exactly where you are supposed to be. A few weeks later one of my best friends mentioned she was thinking about going to Ibiza with her sister and brother in law (his family is from Ibiza) and suggested that I meet up with her. We went for it, she booked her flight from SF to Ibiza and I booked my flight from Granada to Ibiza (Granada is the closest airport to Jaén) since I had already booked my flight from SF to Spain. How the timeline unfolded, it would give me 1.5 days in Jaén to check out the city, check into my apartment, get some sleep, and then jet off to Ibiza. It sounded intense, but I figured I'm young, I can handle it and what could be better than going to Ibiza with your best friend and staying with a local family. We had no idea, but a day before leaving for Spain, we both realized we were on the same flight from SF to Barcelona. I was THRILLED! It was a sign! I am a nervous flier as it as, and I knew how sad I would be saying goodbye to my family, so having my best friend on my flight was the best surprise I could have ever asked for. I took this small "coincidence" as a little sign that I was doing the right thing by moving to Spain. 3 days later, I found myself on the most beautiful tropical island, swimming in turquoise water, and dancing the night away in one of Ibiza's famous clubs. 10/10 would recommend visiting Ibiza.

San Antonio, Ibiza con mis amigas!

Old Town Ibiza

Shopping in Old Town Ibiza :)

Traditional dinner at a local restaurant. We were not expecting a whole fish, but it was delicious and fresh!

Punta Galera, Ibiza. One of the most stunning beaches I have been to. We had the place to ourselves because it is extremely hard to find. If we did not have a local showing us how to get there it would have been impossible. You have to do a bit of off-roading in your car, and then hike down some rocks. Definitely worth the trek. There are a few gypsy's who live in the rocks at the beach and sell mojitos (that are delicious) and pizzas. It sounds a bit sketchy, but it was totally safe. Who doesn't love getting a little day drunk on a beach? :)

This is what the hike down to the beach looks like! Slippers not recommended...

Cala Comte, Ibiza. This was a great beach for swimming. The water was super calm and crystal clear. However, the beaches were extremely packed. There were only a few inches between our towels and our neighbors. Still, it was a great experience.
