Bordeaux is one of those places that cannot be described in words, it is more a feeling that you can only understand if you have felt it- it is the best feeling ever that I wish I could bottle up and keep forever. That is the profound thing about traveling, while you're in it you try and soak up every last drop of experiences, visuals, interactions and as soon as its over all of those moments and feelings are memories. You are left wanting more and longing for the feeling you had when you were there. Looking back makes me so happy and proud for all of the experiences I have had, but it also makes me starved for more. While I am writing and sorting through photos of all the places I was able to visit the past 6 months, I am filled with many emotions, joy, laughter, nostalgia, and a tang of heart ache because I want those moments back in front of me. There is something about walking through the streets of Europe that gives me an unsurmountable feeling of joy. At the end of every trip, I am always left with wanderlust!
The Streets of Bordeaux.
We had a little bit of a boozy brunch at L’autre Petit Bois. It is an eclectic cozy two story restaurant that I would 100% recommend having lunch or brunch at! The decor and ambiance is so inviting we didn't want to leave.
Lots of cute shops!
We made our way to a vintage market - I love markets!!!! (Vintage market in Passage Saint Michel)
Lots of funky finds.
Had some fancy cocktails our first night out at SIMONE.
Day 2 we made our way to Saint-Émilion (wine country) to do some wine tasting for the day! We booked a tour through Airbnb experience (linked here) and we had such a lovely experience!
The town of Saint Émilion is the cutest town ever. It is exactly what you would expect for an old village in France surrounded by vineyards.
We did a walking tour around the village and stopped at a few places and then headed out to a winery where we did a tour and tasting in a small group.
The winery we visited is called Tour Baladoz. The property was stunning and we really enjoyed our tour and tasting.
Delicious french wines!
Back in Bordeaux we had a special dinner at Chez Thérèse. They have an underground wine cellar where you can pick out a bottle to open with your meal.
A few photos from our lovely airbnb (linked here)
It was such a perfect place to stay for 2 people. I would highly recommend, the hosts were incredible!
Our last sunset in Bordeaux! Another place I recommend is Julo wine bar- I didn't take any photos but it was one of my favorite spots of the trip!
Until next time!
